Let's band together to make an impact on something greater than just ourselves.
Mission impossible? Never heard of it. We want to positively impact 100,000 women’s lives through Born for More Fitness by the year 2020.
Woman on a Mission.
I’m a woman on a mission. This is my story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted the best. The best for myself. The best for my family and friends. The best for everyone and anything on this planet we call Earth. But with that in mind there also came competitiveness, constant striving, failure to meet expectation, lack of balance and overall, un-fulfillment.
My thoughts were grossly distorted. My drive to achieve and succeed in great things, was not motivated by healthy beliefs. I was selfish. I was ignorant. I was a teenager, and I thought I knew best. Being the age and maturity that I was at that time, I believed I could get away with just about anything and my health was severely lacking. I would walk to school every morning with nothing in my stomach, spend hours a day playing sport and chasing good grades. Then I would come home, demolish packets of noodles, cans of spaghetti, artificial pasta mixes, and then refuse to touch the dinner my mother had spent several hours earlier cooking.
I had assumed that I could eat whatever I wanted, because my body didn’t change in shape or size, but what I didn’t realise was my health was diminishing internally. My perception of the “perfect” body was solely focused on the external and I was blissfully unaware of the lessons I would soon learn. I battled issues with negative self-image, lack of energy, and even wound up in hospital due to near kidney failure. My mother has always had an interest in health and proper nutrition, as she would continually seek to provide the best in foods and advice for our health over the years. The words my mother spoke, and I had once only perceived as “background noise” and “nagging”, eventually led me to the search for better health, a better me, the real me.
In 2012, at the ripe old age of 19, a shift began to happen within my life. My “perfectionist” mentality didn’t align with what I believed to be true anymore and I discovered that striving for perfection had effected my own authenticity. I was trying to be something that wasn’t real. It wasn’t who I was born to be. So I decided to make a change. I was positively influenced, and surrounded myself with those who only challenged my thinking and added value to my life. Life began to just “flow” as the things I once strived to attain, were instead drawing close to me.
The lifestyle I had once led is now merely a memory and learning experience. I have since gained maturity and am continually hungry to learn and grow from others. I now read books about business, relationships, faith, personal development, health, and nutrition - something I never would imagined doing. This, in turn, has helped me gain insight and clarity around my passions, dreams and overall vision: to help thousands of women realise their true worth, to empower people to live their best lives through better health choices, and to, in some way, make a positive impact on the rest of the world. From this vision of mine, the Born for More Fitness Movement was created.
Life is a journey, Ladies. One that we will never stop changing, growing and learning from. Join with me in this movement and commit to something that gives you nothing but spine-tingling feelings! Love yourself, give back, and be thankful always.
You were born for so much more.
